Hi…my name is Crystal Brown and I’m a Nashville native. I love sharing my favorite finds with my friends, so I consider you a friend…thanks for stopping by! I’ve been married for over 12 years, have two kiddos, and I try to feed my family healthy options when I can. We still depend on pizza, Chick-fil-a, and the local Mexican restaurant every now and again though. I love new restaurants, traveling to new places, trying new workouts and finding great deals…but I’m assuming so do you! I try to be real, sharing the good and bad. So grab a cup of coffee & let’s jump in on this journey!
As I said, I grew up in Nashville with deep roots. My grandmother owned a southern restaurant in Alabama, which is where my love for food began. My parents instilled biblical truths in me as a child, but it wasn’t until my 20’s that I truly understood what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus. In high school I was involved in competitive cheerleading and was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go on and cheer at The University of Tennessee. I met my husband, Jason, in 2005 and we’ve been happily married for almost 13 years.
Our daughter Ella is 10 and she loves theater and dance! She was born with Turners Syndrome (TS) and has been such a warrior for our family, having had open-heart surgery when she was just 4 years old.
She still has cardiology follow ups, along with 10 other specialists at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, but she’s been a trooper through it all…teaching us lessons along the way. That’s why we have such a heart for families with medical challenges and always want to help share our story to encourage others. You can read more about Ella here.
Beckett is 7 and is our wild, athletic boy. He loves playing and watching all sports. He also loves video games, which can absolutely be a challenge to parenting these days! But….he has a big heart and he loves to help others.
Our family LOVES to travel. Last year we homeschooled the kids for the semester and traveled around Europe for a little over 2 months, visiting nearly 10 different countries and 17 different cities. Overall it was one of the best experiences our family has ever had together. Yes, it was crazy and a lot of things had to happen before we could go, but we had the best time and made memories that will last a lifetime! Thanks for stopping by and I hope we can connect in some aspect of this crazy life together!
