Gimme that

Cheekwood is a historic home and garden that once belonged to Leslie and Mabel Cheek. Located in Nashville in the beautiful Belle Meade neighborhood. Cheekwood opened in 1960 and has been a local favorite for years! It’s beautiful to visit year-round but Christmas is magical!

Daytime Visits

During the day you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and walk along the trails. The kids always love the train and seeing the reindeer! If the weather is nice it’s a great place to let the kids run around! You can also tour the beautiful mansion. You can’t miss the poinsettia tree and of course the kids love seeing the play room with toys from years ago. It’s always fun to see the oranges and remind the kids of how kids years ago would receive oranges for Christmas.

There is also an art gallery on the third floor for those who enjoy seeing different artist and pieces.

Be sure to take a walk outside and see the beautiful balcony and overlook!

If you visit on a Saturday during the day you can often find Santa and other activities around the mansion. From making ginger bread houses to writing letters to Santa, there is quite a bit for kids to do!

If you plan on spending the day here there is a café on site for food and beverages!

Cheekwood Lights at Night

Visiting Cheekwood at night during Christmas may be one my kids’ favorite things. There are so many lights to see! Be sure to dress warm and wear comfortable shoes. The kids can still see the train and reindeer at night and enjoy walking down the paths. They also have food trucks set up with food and holiday drinks including hot chocolate for the kids and hot beverages for the adults. You can even buy s’more kits and warm up by the fires.

Santa is there every night for the kids to see. And I have to say Santa takes so much time with the kids and makes each one feel so special. He even took time with Ella to ask her to say her multiplication table.

Nashville is known as music city so of course they have amazing carolers for all to enjoy the songs of the season! From the art to the reindeer there is really something for every age to visit Cheekwood.

To visit the lights at night the price is $22 for adults and $17 for kids 3-17, you can also save $5 if you are a member. If you live in Nashville a membership is worth it because they have other fun events throughout the year that make the membership worth it.

Most of all have fun and Merry Christmas!
