This recipe is so easy to make and always a hit for any holiday gathering. My grandmother’s banana pudding was one of the most popular items in her restaurant. People would always ask for the recipe and now I’m sharing.
Southern Banana Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 5 oz Box of Instant Vanilla Pudding mix
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 14 oz Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 8 oz Cool Whip
- 1 16 oz Box of Vanilla Wafers
- 6 Bananas
Instructions
- Mix the Pudding Mix and Milk together for 2 minutes
- Add in sweetened condensed milk, I just use half a can but some people like it sweeter and use the whole can, mix together
- Fold in the Cool Whip, I use half the tub and save some for the top
- Slice bananas and mix in
- Place a layer of vanilla wafers on the bottom of the bowl
- Reserve some wafers for the top layer. Mix in remaining wafers. If using a clear bowl you can also use some for layering or place along the inside of the bowl.
- Pour in the banana pudding mixture
- Top with cool whip and more vanilla wafers
- Let chill for one hour before serving
