Welcome to Franlin, TN. A small town that is growing everyday! Growing up here, I remember Cool Springs as a field and my mom being so excited when she heard a mall was coming soon with a Castner Knott and Parisian. I remember looking forward to Halloween each year just to see the pumpkin designs at Earl’s Fruit Stand. And for special occasions it was a treat to go to Choices on Main St. We also loved Dumplins and Dotson’s, some of the original restaurants in downtown Franklin.

Sadly none of those are here today but downtown Franklin does still have it’s sweet charm. You can spend an entire day walking around downtown Franklin. If you are just visiting I recommend staying at The Harpeth Hotel so you can walk to all the restaurants and shops. You can also grab a coffee downstairs at McGavock’s or next door at the Franklin Bakehouse. We actually have many great options for coffee around town, here are some of my favorites:

Southerner’s Coffee

Located across the street from Sonic, this sweet family knows how to make coffee and give back to the community. Try the campfire!

Honest Roaster’s

Located inside the Factory. Be sure to try a cuban!

High Brow Brew

Located in Westhaven. Great treats and the best iced chia!

The Coffee House at Second and Bridge

This is the cutest little house for coffee or breakfast! Grab a chair outside and enjoy the town!

Where to Eat

Frothy Monkey

Local cafe offering breakfast all day, local coffee, sandwiches, salads, and more!

Mercantile

A local favorite, offering breakfast and lunch. The locals love the tomato basil soup and chicken salad!

Merridees Breadbasket

Another local favorite with breakfast and lunch, homemade bread and pasties!

Puckett’s

Located across from the court house in the heart of downtown Franklin

55 South

One of our local favorites! The same owners as The Red Pony and Cork n Cow! Best brunch on the weekends and great for sandwiches, oysters, and shrimp during the week!

The Red Pony

Hands down a Franklin classic! Consistently one of our favorites for date nights and dinner out with friends! Shrimp n grits are the best in town! The menu changes each season so you can’t go wrong with any of the new features. Be sure to ask for a Good Night Rebecca, not on the menu but the best chocolate martini in town!

Cork n Cow

If you want a great steak, this is the place! The gnocchi is also to die for! We love to celebrate special occasions here or even just grab a drink and appetizer at the bar!

Culaccino

Franklin’s newest Italian spot! Culaccino has the best handmade pizza and homemade pasta! They even have a kids menu that the littles will love! Request to sit by the kitchen and you can enjoy the show!

You can’t visit downtown Franklin without checking out some of my favorite shops!

Southern Collective

The cutest shop located near Sweet Cici’s with everything you need for a gift, for yourself or someone else! Everything from candles, necklaces and everything in between! And if you have time schedule a facial with Tisha! You will leave feeling so refreshed!

Tin Cottage

This shop has everything Franklin! From local finds to souvenirs for babies to grandmas!

Gin-O Boutique

This adorable little boutique located next to Puckett’s has the cutest clothes for a fun day walking around town!

Aubree P

Aubree has the best style for everyday looks to dressing it up on the weekend! It’s located on 3rd Ave inside the Faded Farm House. You can spend your time looking at so many great finds inside this little house!

Posh Franklin

Located next to Ruby’s Sunshine, just off the square, this shop has every fun and trendy! From cute shoes to hats! Another great find!

Riverside Franklin

If you are looking for great lighting, tables or accent pieces, Riverside is local favorite for all your decorating needs!

PD’s

Welcome to the best hole in the wall find in town! Well maybe the best designed train depot in town! PD’s is a local secret with furniture, bedding, and all kinds of home decor! Every week is something new and you never know what they will have but that’s what makes it fun!

As our town changes, I’ll continue to list my new favorites but this is a start to some of my favorite staples!
